Doubling and Halving

My Reflection:
I was learning the doubling and halving strategy.
I found doing the arrays was the easiest bit.
I found knowing which number to double and halve was the harder bit.
I think I still need a bit of work on this strategy.

Hockey Skills

My Reflection:
I learned how to play hockey and how to hold a hockey stick.
I found it easy to hold the hokey stick.
I found it hard to juggle the hokey ball.
I want to work on juggle the hokey ball.
I need to have a bit more practise at hockey.

2D and 3D Shapes

My Reflection:
I am learning about 2D and 3D shapes
I found it easy to write the name of the shape.
I found it hard to describe the 2D or 3D shape.
I want to work on describing the 2D or 3D shape.

Guy Fawkes Comprehension Activity

My Reflection:
I was learning about Guy Fawkes using skimming and scanning.
I found it easy to write down the answers to the questions.
I found it hard to find the answers in the text.
I want to work on thinking of the answers.

My Speech

My Reflection:
I was learning how to write a persuasive speech.
I found it easy to write the speech and think about my ideas.
I found it hard to think of the speech topic.
I want to work on thinking about more topics to write a speech on.

'ar' Spelling Pattern

My Reflection:
I was learning about the 'ar' spelling pattern.
I found it easy to find the words with the ar in them.
I found it hard to write the meaning for the word.
I want to work on write the meaning for the word.

Suffixes

My Reflection:
I am learning about suffixes.
I found it easy to  to write the sentence for the word.

I found it hard to describe the meaning of the word. 

I want to work on describing the meaning of the word. 

Fractured Fairytale

My Reflection:
I was learning to compare a traditional fairy tale with a fractured fairy tale. I had to compare the setting, plot and characters. I found it easier to describe the traditional fairy tale. I found it harder to talk about the fractured fairy tale because I don't know this one as well. I want to work on adding in more detail into the fractured fairy tale.

Rounding to the Nearest 10 Number

My Reflection:
I was learning to round numbers to the nearest 10. I find rounding numbers to the nearest 10 easy. I found the hundred numbers a bit harder. I would like to work on trying to round thousand numbers to the nearest 10.

There, Their and They're Homophones

My Reflection:
I was learning about there, their and they're homophones.
Homophones are words that sound the same but their meanings are different.
I found writing the meanings of the different words easier. I found putting the correct word in the sentence harder because I had to think about which word was right for that sentence. I want to work on other homophones that I have not learnt anything about.

Suffixes

My Reflection:
I was learning about suffixes. I found it easy to write a sentence for each word. I found it hard to think of a word. I need work on thinking of more words that use suffixes.

Olympic Tagul

My Reflection: I was learning to extend my Olympic vocabulary by thinking of an Olympic related word for each letter in the alphabet. I found thinking of a word for O easy because Olympics starts with O. I found it hard to come up with a word for Y. I think I need to learn more Olympic words.

Reading Around the World Challenge

My Reflection:
I was learning to research a country that was in the Olympics.
I was using skimming and scanning to help me with my research.
I found it easy to choose my country and researching what the capital city is.
I found it hard to research the Prime Minister.
I want to work on my researching skills and skimming and scanning.

Retelling Activity

My Reflection:
I was learning to retell a story.
I found it easy to put the story in my own words.
I found it hard to put the story in order.
I want to work on adding more detail when I am retelling.

Rugby Skills and Bike Skills

My Reflection:
I was learning to compare two events in my writing.
I found it hard to add detail to my writing.
I found it easy to make sure all my sentences were punctuated correctly.
I want to work on writing all my ideas into my writing.

Skip Counting

My Reflection:
I was learning to skip count in 2, 5 and 10.
I think I am pretty good at skip counting.
Skip counting in 5 is the easiest for me.
I want to work on skip counting in other numbers.

Pepeha Art

My Reflection:
I was learning to create a visual representation of my Pepeha.
I found drawing my picture hard because I was trying to draw everything in 3D.
It was easy to choose the colours because I was only going to choose the colours that looked right.
I want to work on making sure that there is no white spaces.

Reading Aloud

Sentences

My Reflection:
I was learning about different types of sentences. I found writing the words easy. I want to work on staying focussed and my spelling.

Hot and Cold Art

My Reflection:
I was learning about hot and cold colours.
It was easy to know where to put the colours. The hard part was figuring out a pattern with my colours.
I want to work on staying focused.

Tens and Ones

My Reflection:
I was learning about tens and ones. I found it easy because I know all am my tens and ones. I need to work on being focussed.

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog. This year I am in Room 13 and my teacher is Miss Kulik. I enjoy writing This year I am looking forward to writing I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
